The Wild Atlantic Way Challenge 2016

Dedicated to the memory of Lorraine Shanahan


This year we are dedicating the trip to the memory of Lorraine Shanahan who we lost tragically in November. Anyone that knew our Lollie would know what a kind, gentle and caring person she was, always thinking of her next fundraiser and always trying her best to help anyone that she could in anyway that she could.

We wanted to dedicate the Wild Atlantic Way Challenge to Lollie’s memory, to make this trip the very best we can, our hearts are truly broken without our lovely Lollie but we want to make her proud, keep the trip going this year and make it the biggest success that we can for her.

The total raised last year on the UK Moors & Dales Motorbike challenge including events leading up to it  and sales of Christmas Cards and Calendars was €46,000.

All Proceeds went directly to the Irish Guide Dogs

Outline of the Weekend:

Friday 29th April : Stage 1 Group will meet at the Hotel Westport and leave for Achill Island.

Saturday 30th April: Stage 2 - Sligo

Sunday 1st May: Stage 3 - Mayo and Galway

Monday 2nd May: Depart for home

Detailed Itinerary and Maps will be uploaded nearer to the trip.


This year we will be based in the one hotel for the weekend, with different loops to and from the hotel each day. The hotel in which we will be based for the weekend is the Hotel Westport.

The cost of the weekend is :

€550 per Biker per person sharing

€370 per Pillion per person sharing

The Single supplement for the weekend is €60, however single room availability is limited.

The Cost of the weekend includes:

- 3 nights hotel accomodation, 3 breakfasts, 2 evening meals and a Gala Dinner on the final night

- Itinerary Booklet, High Vis, souvenir t-shirt & Badge and certificate of completion.
